It all started in 1977 when Chuck Rubin, then a musicians’ manager and booking agent, attempted to assist one of his artists in recovering his uncollected royalties. Unfortunately, many musical artists, writers, publishers and producers were also not receiving their proper compensation to which they were entitled.
Armed with this disturbing knowledge and the will to make a difference, Chuck founded Artists Rights Enforcement Corporation (“AREC”) and was soon heralded by the New York Times as “the white knight of rock ‘n roll.” With AREC’s help, hundreds of our clients’ royalty flows have been recovered after decades of frustration and disrespect.
AREC’s client roster now reads like a veritable "Who's Who" of the Rock 'n Roll and Rhythm & Blues Halls of Fame, representing a vast spectrum of great musical pioneers.
Today, we are proud to represent more than 500 artists, songwriters, publishers and producers.
